'The Marrakesh-CN-67' 67" Solid Copper French Bateau Tub with Polished Copper Exterior and Polished Nickel Interior
This is our totally exotic 'Marrakesh67'; a
simply stunning solid copper French Bateau bathtub.
The exterior of the tub is mirror polished original copper
and the inside finish is a healthy 20 microns of applied and mirror polished
nickel. The visual effect created using both finishes together is exquisitely pleasing.
The elegant shape of the Marrakesh is inspired by similar copper
bathtubs produced in France in the 19th and early 20th
centuries for the grandest and finest French country chateaus.
Unlike most other copper tubs producers, we chose to remain as true to this fabulous original French design as possible. The easy way would have been to set a tub body on a pedestal, we chose not to. We wanted
seamless no pedestal line. This required innovative manufacturing techniques. Using
2mm thick copper plate with special welding and soldering processes, plus a
unique bathing well support design, our artisans were able to create this extremely
strong, solidly constructed yet fabulous bathtub.
Manufacturing
This solid copper bathtub is handmade using 99.6%, original pure copper sheet. Unlike most manufactures, we choose to use 14 gauge (2mm) copper for all of our copper bathtubs. As a result, when you compare the feel and weight of our tubs with others, you will immediately notice a large weight difference. However, our solid copper bathtubs are still light enough for two persons to carry.
Maintaining the Finish
The polished copper exterior is unlacquered and will patina beautifully in your home. If you prefer to maintain the mirror polished finish, use a soft fiber cloth with a drop of Mothers polish, this will easily remove any unwanted patina and keep the surface shiny.
A soft cloth dampened with soapy water will remove most stains from the polished nickel interior. The nickel will not patina as readily as the copper, but is will start to change a little over time. Again, if you prefer it to remain mirror polished, use Mothers polish to remove any marks.
After each soak, we recommend you dry the inside with a soft towel to remove any moisture.
