'The Furness-LFBU-66' 66" Cast Iron French Bateau Tub with Burnished Brass Exterior and Drain

Product Details

This a fabulous 66” Plinth Bateau that is a newly designed tub with the most minimal appearance of all of our tubs. It encompasses a delightful bateau shaped wider roll top lip and a very simple outward facing attached straight plinth base.

We take the tub as it comes from the mold and treat it to present the appearance of being dipped in pure, thick molten metal. This is not a painted or faux finish, it is actual metal, all the finish markings are natural from the mold. We apply and bond several coats of pure, thick brass before randomly hand brushing to achieve the beautiful living finish, leaving some of the original mold marks on the tub.

Finishing
This tub has a pure brass coated and randomly brushed exterior; it has a thick cast iron center and a high gloss, high grade enameled interior. While we apply a protective clear beeswax to the tub exterior before shipping, the brass will naturally tarnish over time. Further applications of beeswax will slow any patina.
