'The Fontenay-IB-73' 73" Cast Iron Chariot Clawfoot Tub with HAND BURNISHED Natural Iron Exterior and Drain

Product Details
Our inspiration to manufacture this gorgeous bathtub came from an original Chariot tub produced by the French company Rogeat in Lyon, France around 1850.
To intersect with today's bathing expectations, we did make it several inches wider than the original. We also made the ends slope a little more than the original as we felt that today's bathers would prefer a little more recline at the back for additional comfort. Apart from these updates, it is very similar to the original Rogeat tub.
This is a truly stunning deep bathtub that will be the absolute centerpiece of any fabulous spa retreat bathroom.

Finishing
After the tub is removed from the mold, we clean and burnish it. This leaves all the casting marks visible and highlights the beautiful shades of the natural iron. To protect the surface, prevent rust and to make cleaning simple, we apply three coats of high quality clear lacquer.
The interior of the tub is finished with hand applied enamel. As a result, slight undulations will appear on the surface and this will add to the individual character of every Penhaglion Hand Finished bathtub.
